How to calculate your Pythagorean numerology map
Your Pythagorean map comes from your date of birth. Each number is found by adding digits until a single digit remains, except the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which are kept.
The reduction rule
Add the digits of a number again and again until one digit remains. If 11, 22 or 33 appears along the way, stop: those are master numbers.
Essence: the day
Reduce the day you were born. Example: 29, 2 + 9 = 11, kept because it is a master number.
Karma: the month
Reduce your birth month. November is 11 and is also kept.
Past Life: the year
Add the digits of the year and reduce. 1985: 1 + 9 + 8 + 5 = 23, and 2 + 3 = 5.
Destiny: the sum
Add Essence, Karma and Past Life, and reduce. 11 + 11 + 5 = 27, and 2 + 7 = 9.
Personal Year: your current cycle
Add Essence, Karma and the current year reduced. In 2026: 11 + 11 + 1 = 23, and 2 + 3 = 5. It changes every January 1.
